Protecting What Matters Most

Estate planning is about far more than preparing documents. It is about protecting your family, preserving your assets and ensuring your wishes are carried out exactly as intended.

At Trafalgar Estate Planning, we combine over 35 years of financial planning experience with specialist estate planning expertise to help families make informed decisions with confidence.

Because good estate planning should not just be legally correct. It should be:

Thought Through Legally.

Sense Checked Financially.

WILL WRITING

A professionally drafted Will is one of the most important documents you will ever create.

It determines who inherits your assets, who administers your estate and, in many cases, whether your family receives the maximum benefit from everything you have worked a lifetime to build.

For many people, a straightforward Will is entirely appropriate. For others, additional planning may be worth considering. The important thing is understanding the options available and choosing the solution that is right for you.

LASTING POWERS OF ATTORNEY

Most of us spend time thinking about what happens after we're gone. Far fewer think about what happens if we're still here but unable to make decisions for ourselves.

A Lasting Power of Attorney allows you to appoint trusted people to make decisions on your behalf should you lose mental capacity. It is one of the most important safeguards you can put in place for yourself and the people you love.

INHERITANCE TAX PLANNING

We cannot avoid most taxes in life. But in our opinion, there is one tax that is often largely optional with the right planning.

Helping families legally reduce unnecessary Inheritance Tax has become one of our greatest passions. Over many years, Gary estimates he has helped clients preserve more than £1.5 BILLION OF FAMILY WEALTH. Not through gimmicks. Not through risky schemes. But through sensible, carefully structured planning.

TRUSTS & ASSET PROTECTION

Trusts can play an important role in protecting family wealth and ensuring assets pass according to your wishes. But not everyone needs a trust and not every trust is the same.

At Trafalgar Estate Planning, we don't start with products. We start by understanding your circumstances. Only then do we recommend whether a Property Protection Trust, Discretionary Trust, Vulnerable Beneficiary Trust, Disabled Person's Trust or another arrangement may be appropriate.

PROPERTY PROTECTION TRUST WILLS

For many people, the family home is their largest asset.

A Property Protection Trust may help ensure that at least part of that asset ultimately passes to the people you intend to benefit whilst still allowing a surviving spouse or partner to remain in the property.

It can provide security today whilst helping protect future generations tomorrow.

VULNERABLE BENEFICIARY TRUST WILLS

If you have a loved one who may struggle to manage money, is vulnerable to outside influence or requires ongoing support, leaving an inheritance outright may not always be the most appropriate solution. A Vulnerable Beneficiary Trust may help provide protection, support, financial Security and peace of mind for the future.

DISABLED PERSON'S TRUST WILLS

If you have a disabled child, grandchild or loved one, one of the biggest questions you may ask yourself is What happens when I'm no longer here?

A Disabled Person's Trust may help provide long-term financial security and support whilst helping preserve entitlement to certain benefits and maintaining flexibility for the future. Every family is different. Our role is to help you understand the options available.

DISCRETIONARY TRUST WILLS

Life changes.

Families change.

Circumstances change.

A Discretionary Trust is designed to provide flexibility.

Rather than trying to predict the future, it allows decisions to be made based on the circumstances that actually exist at the time.

For many families, that flexibility can be incredibly valuable.

ASSET PROTECTION

There is no such thing as a single trust called an "Asset Protection Trust." Asset protection is usually the objective. Not the trust itself.

Depending on your circumstances, the most suitable solution may involve a number of different trust arrangements designed to help protect:

  • The family home

  • Savings and investments

  • Children's inheritance

  • Business assets

  • Future generations

BUSINESS OWNER WILLS

Your business may be one of your most valuable assets. But what happens to it if you're no longer here?

Business owners often have planning considerations that go far beyond a standard Will. The objective is not simply to distribute business assets.

It is to protect your family, your fellow business owners, your employees and the business itself.

PROBATE

Losing someone you love is one of life's most difficult experiences.

The last thing most families want is to deal with complicated legal paperwork and unfamiliar processes.

We provide clear guidance and practical support to help families understand Probate and navigate estate administration with confidence.

Because during difficult times, straightforward advice matters.
